Multiplication Facts Made Easy with Times Tales
This is a sponsored mail. All opinions are 100% mine.
I am convinced there are two types of people in this world: Those who "become" math and those who just don't. I happen to autumn in the latter category–math was never my all-time subject despite the hours of time I spent studying.
On a deeper level, I am convinced that some of our brains are wired to quickly remember numbers, equations, and mathematical concepts and others have to hijack such numbers and equations and endeavour to relate them in some way to existing information or a blazon of relationship. We take both types living under this roof- my oldest son and my husband can easily remember numbers and equations while I need something relational to latch onto in gild to understand or remember.
My oldest son is in 2d grade and loves math. Although his 2nd grade curriculum is setting the phase for multiplication on a conceptual basis, he volition not accept to memorize multiplication facts until next year. He is an eager beaver, however, and is super pumped to showtime learning them!
I was then thrilled when I received an electronic mail from the creators of Times Tales request us to review their DVD system for helping children to memorize multiplication facts.
I have never seen anything quite like this system. The Times Tales DVD starts off introducing characters that are shaped similar a specific number. Then at that place are stories that proceed with each character. The stories practice not make much sense from a mathematical standpoint at kickoff, just children are asked to pay close attention to the stories yet. It isn't until nearly 15 to 20 minutes after that the stories make sense in the context of multiplication.
The "Treehouse" and the "Chair" are two of the characters in the TimesTales stories.
The stories themselves do non explain the concept of multiplication, rather they rely on imagery and mnemonic to assist children memorize the facts through a narrative retrieve. This makes it an excellent supplemental resource!
Once children remember the stories that go with each of the numbers, they tin hands solve the equations! It is truly astonishing!
We accept watched this DVD a few separate times. It took us two times through the narrative for my boys (ages viii and half dozen) to remember the stories completely. In one case they memorized the stories, they could both easily remember the answer to the multiplication and even the partition equations! Yes, even my kindergartener (although we really demand to work on mastering addition first). :)
We received the DVD version but you can also buy an instant download. In addition to the videos, you will also receive access to printable worksheets, flashcards, and even fun printable dice to play with!
Overall, Times Tales is an fantabulous tool for helping children to memorize and quickly call up multiplication facts…specially children who might be struggling with more traditional methods. The DVD version of Times Tales is merely $24.95 and the digital download is $xix.95…which I think is an crawly toll for such a helpful resources!
